FOX analyst RJ Young updates top 25 rankings following Week 9

FOX analyst RJ Young has revised his top 25 rankings heading into Week 10 and 6 SEC teams made the cut.

Here are the SEC teams on Young’s list: No. 2 Georgia, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 6 Alabama, No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 18 LSU and No. 23 Kentucky.

Undefeated Georgia defeated rival Florida 42-20. After trailing by as much as 25 points, Florida trimmed the deficit to 28-20 with 3:31 left in the third quarter. Georgia iced the victory with a pair of rushing touchdowns after that, one from Daijun Edwards and the other by Kenny McIntosh. Georgia amassed 555 total yards while committing 3 turnovers.

Undefeated Tennessee routed rival Kentucky 44-6. Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker completed 19 of his 25 passes for 245 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Jalin Hyatt caught 5 passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tennessee tallied 3 interceptions by Juwan Mitchell, Brandon Turnage and Doneiko Slaughter.

One-loss Alabama had a bye. Alabama defeated Mississippi State 30-6 in Week 8.

One-loss Ole Miss beat Texas A&M 31-28. Quinshon Judkins rushed for 205 yards and a touchdown. Judkins scored the final points of the game for Ole Miss in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run with 7:18 to go. Ole Miss amassed 530 total yards and didn’t commit any turnovers.

Two-loss LSU is coming off a bye after upsetting Ole Miss.

The rankings will certainly be impacted by the Alabama at Ole Miss and Tennessee at Georgia games this coming Saturday. That contest will have major implications for the SEC West title.
