You know college football is around the corner when a myriad of rankings start popping up. The AP and coaches’ polls are now available. FOX college football analyst RJ Young took it a step further and ranked all 136 FBS teams going into the 2025 season.

Not surprisingly, the list is front-loaded with SEC teams, including No. 1 Texas, No. 5 Georgia, No. 8 LSU, No. 9 Alabama and No. 10 Oklahoma in Young’s top 10. Tennessee (No. 13), Ole Miss (No. 14), Missouri (No. 15), South Carolina (No. 17), Texas A&M (No. 20), and Florida (No. 21) are also in the top 25 of Young’s rankings.

The remainder of the SEC teams are ranked as follows: Vanderbilt (No. 36), Auburn (No. 39), Kentucky (No. 52), Mississippi State (No. 58), and Arkansas (No. 64).

The SEC slate will definitely be a gauntlet once again this season.

It’ll be interesting to see if Texas can capture the program’s first SEC title in Year 2 in its new conference after losing to Georgia in overtime of last season’s championship matchup. The Bulldogs reached the College Football Playoff quarterfinals last season. The pressure is squarely on Brian Kelly to get LSU into the CFP after failing to do so as of yet during his time in Baton Rouge.
