Garrett Nussmeier announces engagement to longtime girlfriend

Garrett Nussmeier is engaged to be married.
The LSU quarterback and long-time girlfriend Ella Springfield shared the news this weekend with their social media followers. Nussmeier kept his announcement simple, captioning a photo posted to his Instagram story of Springfield showing off the ring with “forever us.”
Springfield had numerous posts on her Instagram story, including congratulations from friends and family.

Per NOLA.com, Springfield is an LSU graduate currently living in Dallas. Nussmeier, 23, is in his fifth year at LSU.
It’s not immediately known when Nussmeier will be sporting the wedding band. Tigers fans are hopeful that Nussmeier will be wearing a different kind of ring in a few years.
After leading LSU to a 9-4 season in 2024, there are high expectations for the Tigers in 2025. At DraftKings Sportsbook, LSU is currently +1800 to win the national championship, behind Ohio State (+500), Texas, Georgia, Penn State, Oregon, Clemson, Alabama and Notre Dame.
It’s safe to say 2025 is already a special year for Nussmeier. Now, he’ll try to make it one to remember for the entire LSU football program.
