Gary Danielson sees No. 11 Alabama (4-1) going old school against Texas A&M (4-1) in the Saturday showdown he’ll call for CBS.

โ€œThis week, it seems to me, the two offensive lines will be responsible for allowing the quarterback to be whatever he can be on both teams,โ€ Danielson told The Tuscaloosa News this week.โ€ โ€œIf they donโ€™t get the play up front, I donโ€™t know if either quarterback is going to have enough firepower within the offense to really make a difference in the game.โ€

Alabamaโ€™s offensive line has shown promise amid 363.2 yards in total offense per game, but the Crimson Tide have allowed 17 sacks thus far. Texas A&M has strengths on the defensive front with 9 fumbles thus far but only 7 sacks.

Texas A&M has a dynamic offense with 38.6 points and 443.4 yards per game. However, the offensive line has surrendered 20 sacks this season, and thatโ€™s with Louisiana Monroe and New Mexico on the early-season schedule.

Alabamaโ€™s defensive front has 20 sacks this season, but the Crimson Tide also give up 298.2 yards per game and 14.2 points per game. Thatโ€™s factoring smaller FBS teams South Florida and Middle Tennessee State on the schedule.

โ€œBoth defensive lines and edge rushers are so advanced. To me, this is a good old fashioned 2015 Alabama game where their offensive line and defensive line dominated games. They need to step up. Theyโ€™ve been improving, but they need to step it up one more step in this game because theyโ€™re facing a really talented front for Texas A&M,โ€ Danielson said.
