Auburn hosts No. 10 Georgia this weekend and will be looking to bounce back after two straight losses. Former Auburn head coach and SEC Now‘s Gene Chizik recently highlighted what AU needs to do on offense in order to have success against Kirby Smart and his Bulldogs defense.

Chizik believes that Auburn needs to stick with trying to run the football. Against Texas A&M, Auburn’s running backs touched the ball only 8 times for a grand total of 38 yards. This made Auburn’s offense completely one-dimensional.

Auburn running back Jeremiah Cobb has had success when he’s been given the chance. So far this season, Cobb is averaging 6.9 yards a carry. The problem, he’s only getting a little over 11 carries a game. Auburn may need to stick with Cobb throughout the game if it wants a chance to knock off the Bulldogs.

Chizik also brought up Auburn’s lack of explosive plays and said that the Tigers will need to push the ball down the field against Georgia to win.

“It just looks like to me that the offense is still trying to find an identity,” Chizik said. “Not good on third downs, but I think everything starts with the ability to run the football and take the pressure off of Jackson Arnold having to throw it.”

Auburn’s offense will have to try and find something this weekend if it wants a shot at knocking off the No. 10 team in the country.
