Georgia AD Josh Brooks discusses upcoming home-and-home series with Oklahoma

Georgia recently scheduled a home-and-home series with the Oklahoma Sooners, set to take place in 2023 (in Norman) and 2031 (in Athens).
The problem? After that series was scheduled, it was announced that Oklahoma and Texas would be joining the SEC by 2025. So, what happens with the Oklahoma series now?
Georgia AD Josh Brooks discussed the series with the Sooners during SEC spring meetings in Destin, Florida, this week (via DawgNation):
“That’s something we are working on right now,” said UGA athletic director Josh Brooks, asked if the Sooners’ joining the SEC in 2025 could affect the series.
“When there’s clarity on that we’ll give everyone an update. It’s important to be respectful to everyone we’re working with.”
Brooks added that there are a number of ways the Bulldogs could potentially handle a conflict with the series:
“When you get into those situations, sometimes you can move a game forward, move it to another year, sometimes you outright drop it,” Brooks said.
“So sometimes, if it’s a home and away, you can drop, sometimes you can buy it out, sometimes you can move it forward. There are a lot of different tools you can use to solve that.”
Will the Dawgs still travel to Oklahoma in 2023? What will happen to the 2031 game? We’ll find out soon, it seems.
