Georgia beats out Clemson for 4-star in-state DB

A blue-chip defensive back in the state of Georgia is staying home.
Kirby Smart‘s Georgia Bulldogs picked up a big verbal pledge for 2027 on Friday. Seth Williams is now committed to the G.
Out of Atlanta (Georgia) Lakeside High School, Williams is listed as measuring 6-2 and 180 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Williams is rated 4-stars, the No. 37 safety in the country, No. 45 recruit in the state of Georgia and No. 409 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.
As one of the top defensive backs in the Peach State, Williams was widely recruited. He picked up a whopping 52 scholarship offers with Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi State and Ohio State among the schools that showed interest.
Williams’ recruitment, though, was a Georgia-Clemson battle. On Friday, he announced his commitment to the Bulldogs.

With Williams on board, Georgia now has 20 verbal commitments for 2027. The class ranks No. 12 nationally on the Composite.
