Georgia just added a top international prospect to its 2026 recruiting class.

The Bulldogs have earned a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Valdin Sone, who chose UGA over programs such as Florida and Auburn, among others. Sone is of Swedish and Cameroonian descent but recently spent the 2024 season at Blue Ridge High School in Virginia.

“I’m putting every international kid on the map, shout-out to Sweden and Cameroon,” Sone told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.

Sone is a huge pickup for Georgia. He visited Athens back in June and also received major interest from programs such as Ohio State, Oklahoma and Nebraska, to name a few.

Sone is currently regarded as the No. 150 overall player and the No. 20 defensive lineman in the country for the class of 2026, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 316 pounds.

Georgia is in the midst of building what appears to be an elite recruiting class in 2026. The Bulldogs now have an impressive 30 commits in this upcoming cycle. The group sits at No. 2 in the national rankings, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
