Georgia was getting set to play a very big football game on Saturday night against Alabama, but about an hour before kickoff in Athens, the Bulldogs earned a huge victory in the recruiting world.

Four-star offensive tackle Kelsey Adams committed to Georgia for the 2027 season, Adams told On3 on Saturday night. Adams won’t be playing for the Bulldogs until 2 seasons from now, but it was a big-time win for them to keep the 6-foot-6, 305-pound phenom in the state of Georgia.

Adams is from Atlanta, and he chose to stay in-state and head to Georgia over offers from fellow powerhouses Tennessee and Ohio State.

Adams is the 60th-ranked player in the Class of 2027, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the 7th-ranked offensive tackle in the class and the 7th-ranked player from the state of Georgia, so this was a huge win — literally — for Kirby Smart and his program.

The commitment was Georgia’s 4th in its 2027 recruiting class and its 2nd commitment from an offensive lineman, with another Georgia product, Kyson Mallard, being the other offensive line commit for 2027. The Bulldogs’ 2027 class is ranked 7th right now in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

With that commitment from Adams in hand, Georgia now gets onto the business of trying to beat Alabama in the 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC.
