Georgia lands 2 players on Bruce Feldman’s ‘freaks list’ for 2026

The start of every new college football season means that fans of every team across the country have plenty of names on their respective rosters that could end up being the guy who has that breakout campaign and gives them that extra edge.
Whether it’s insane athleticism, game-breaking speed on the outside, or absurd size up front, every program has at least one player who possesses some elite intangibles that separate them from the rest of the pack.
Bruce Feldman from The Athletic terms these game-breaking athletes as “freaks,” and each offseason he puts out a list of players he believes are the freakiest of them all. This year’s list featured 101 of the nation’s top athletes, and a pair of Georgia Bulldogs made the cut in senior wideout London Humphreys (No. 32) and sophomore defensive lineman Elijah Griffin (No. 94).
Here’s some analysis from Feldman on Humphreys:
Humphreys is a terrific all-around athlete with great track bloodlines. His dad, Clark, was an All-American pole vaulter at Auburn, and his mom, Erin, was an All-American decathlete… He had 18 catches for 276 yards and three TDs in 2025, but he is being counted on to play a much bigger role in this offense. The 6-2, 200-pound Humphreys put up a jaw-dropping 11-5 broad jump this summer. He also vertical jumped 35 1/2 inches and power cleaned 315 pounds.

While Humphreys brings some phenomenal athleticism to the table in his own right, Feldman believes that Griffin possesses the kind of traits that could make him the next dominant UGA defensive lineman:
The Dawgs have produced a whopping eight first-round draft picks from the front seven since 2022, and Griffin looks like the next dominator to come through the pipeline. He was a Freshman All-American last year. He caused a lot of havoc in 2025, making 22 tackles and 2.5 TFLs. In the CFP, Griffin made four tackles in the Sugar Bowl against Ole Miss and forced a fumble returned for a 47-yard TD. The 6-4, 310-pound Griffin, who won’t turn 20 until midseason, broad jumped 9-5, got 29 1/2 inches on the vertical and power cleaned 355 pounds.
Humphreys and Griffin are the cream of the crop in Athens for Feldman, and the Dawgs will certainly be relying on both of these freaks as they look to win their third-consecutive SEC Championship and return to the top of the College Football Playoff mountain come season’s end.
