Georgia lands commitment from 4-star 2027 WR, former Penn State pledge

One of the top receivers in Tennessee has decided to stay in SEC territory after initially committing to a Big Ten team.
Jamir Dean told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals on Monday that he has verbally committed to Georgia. He was previously pledged to Penn State.

Out of Alcoa (Tennessee) High School, Dean is listed as measuring 6-2, 175 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Dean is rated 4-stars, the No. 12 player in the state of Tennessee, No. 36 wide receiver and No. 257 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.
Georgia and Penn State weren’t the only programs to recruit Dean. Arkansas, Duke, Louisville, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Wisconsin are listed among Dean’s 25 scholarship offers.
Penn State still has 20 commitments for 2027, a class that ranks No. 10 nationally on the Composite. With Dean on board, Georgia now has 15 verbal commitments for 2027. The class currently ranks No. 14 on the Composite.
