With the 2026 college football season set to kick off in just over a month, plenty of players are laying out both their personal and team goals for the upcoming campaign.
Media Day festivities allow the public to gain an insight into what those athletes are focused on this season, and the SEC’s annual event has shed some light on what the nation’s best are hoping to accomplish this fall.

At Georgia, the standard for defensive excellence is high, especially in the linebacking corps. Senior Raylen Wilson is carrying the torch for the group this season after posting 74 total tackles and 2.5 sacks last year, but he is eyeing even gaudier numbers as a veteran within the unit.
“I would say at least a hundred tackles in the season for me because I haven’t done that yet on a collegiate level,” Wilson said. “I feel like that–with most of them being tackles for loss–I feel like that would help the team (laughs).”
The Tallahassee, Florida, native has seen an uptick in playing time during each of his first three seasons in Athens, which has allowed him to rack up 136 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, a pair of pass breakups and a forced fumble over that span.
And to Wilson’s point, if he does somehow manage to achieve a positive ratio of TFLs-total tackles, then he would likely find himself in New York in December and playing in the College Football Playoff soon after.
