Georgia is now down an offensive prospect from the Class of 2027. Wide receiver Gavin Honore announced his de-commitment from Georgia via social media on Thursday.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Honore, who plays for Bishop Gorman in Nevada, is a 3-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite.
“After careful consideration and much prayer, I have decided to re-open my recruitment and de-commit from the University of Georgia,” Honore said.
Honore is regarded as the No. 4 prospect from Nevada and the No. 70 wide receiver in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Honore initially committed to Georgia on June 2, 2025 while still playing for Mater Dei in California. That decision came after a multi-day camp on Georgia’s campus. Since then, Honore has picked up offers from Colorado, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky, along with taking an unofficial visit to Texas.
Georgia now has 5 commitments for the Class of 2027: running backs Kemon Spell and Noah Parker, wide receiver Aden Starling, offensive tackle Kelsey Adams, and cornerback Donte Wright. Georgia is now No. 7 nationally in the Class of 2027 rankings for 247Sports.
Georgia is coming off a 12-2 campaign, winning the SEC championship, and qualifying for the College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs lost to Ole Miss in the CFP quarterfinals. Georgia begins next season with a home contest vs. Tennessee State on Sept. 5.
