A college football season seemingly wouldn’t be complete without a pivotal battle between Georgia and Alabama occurring at some point during the course of the campaign.
The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide have been battling for supremacy atop the SEC ever since Kirby Smart arrived in Athens, and another chapter will be added to the series next weekend.
And while UGA is just 2-7 against Alabama since Smart took over in 2016, the oddsmakers still believe that the visitors should be slight favorites Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
Kalshi currently has Georgia listed as a -1.5 favorite, with the over/under total having been set at 57.5 points.
With both sides entering this game at 5-0 overall, 2-0 in SEC play and within the AP Poll’s Top 10, it makes sense that the margin would be so slim. However, with the Bulldogs being on the road and having struggled to take down the Tide in recent years, the line may flip as the game approaches.
Additionally, Smart & Co. have lost to Alabama as the higher-ranked team on five occasions since he assumed the helm in Athens.
This matchup could follow that trend, although with neither side having played an opponent to within single digits yet, it’s anybody’s guess as to who handles a closer game better.
