The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry will field its 130th meeting this Saturday night, as Georgia is set to visit Auburn for the latest addition to their longstanding rivalry.

And this time, both sides are desperate for a victory for very different reasons.

Georgia needs to keep winning to stay afloat in the SEC and College Football Playoff race after it fell to Alabama two weeks ago. Meanwhile, Auburn is looking to avoid another dreaded 0-3 start to league play under Hugh Freeze, and the team’s SEC home-opener is a prime chance to right the ship with an upset win.

Ahead of the game, Circa Sports released its opening lines for Week 7’s action, and it listed the Bulldogs as a narrow 4-point favorite.

The Dawgs have won eight straight in a series that dates back to 1892, and the Tigers have only come within a single-score in two of those losses. Their last win came when Gus Malzahn led a 10th-ranked Auburn team to a 40-17 upset over its top-ranked rivals in 2017.

Last season, Georgia cruised to a 31-13 win that sent Auburn into a 2-4 spiral in early October.

The Bulldogs and Tigers will kick off at 7:30 p.m. EST, with the game being televised by ABC.
