A.J. Turman’s time in Athens seems to have come to an end.
The redshirt junior running back was not listed on Georgia’s updated spring roster on Wednesday morning, indicating that he has likely decided to transfer in hopes of finding more playing time with a different program.
Turman (6-foot, 205 pounds) rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries in the 2015 G-Day Game, but never received a carry in a game, partly due to injuries over the past three years, but also because of the depth at tailback.
He would have had to compete with juniors Sony Michel (the returning starter) and superstar Nick Chubb (who is recovering from knee surgery), along with senior Brendan Douglas, redshirt freshman Tae Crowder, and incoming 4-star recruit Elijah Holyfield.
UPDATE
Updating: UGA has given RB A.J. Turman a release to transfer.
