Heading deep into enemy territory Saturday night, Georgia would prefer to have all hands on deck.

But the Bulldogs will be without a key contributor in their backfield when they battle Alabama in a much-anticipated Top 10 showdown.

Junior Chauncey Bowens was listed as ‘Out’ on the SEC’s initial Wednesday injury reports, sidelining the Port Saint Lucie, Florida, native for this contest.

Bowens has carried the ball 35 times for 164 yards and 6 touchdowns as a key contributor in the UGA backfield, and thus more burden will be placed on the shoulders of veteran Nate Frazier, who appears to be fully healthy at this juncture.

The Bulldogs enter this game averaging 213.0 yards per outing via the ground, while the Crimson Tide rank among the best in the nation by allowing just 78.6 rushing yards per game. With Bowers out, it will be interesting to see how these numbers fluctuate come Saturday.

And if inclement weather impacts the game as predicted, both sides will likely be looking to keep things on the ground.

Georgia and Alabama will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET, with the game being broadcast by ABC.
