The Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for their College Football Playoff rematch against the Ole Miss Rebels on New Year’s Day in the Sugar Bowl, and they just provided a massive injury update on star center Drew Bobo.

The lynchpin for the Dawgs’ offense all season long, the senior center suffered a foot injury in Georgia’s regular-season finale against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets that held him out of the SEC Championship.

It looks like the Dawgs will have to go without Bobo against the Rebels in the Sugar Bowl, as the second-team All-SEC selection was officially listed as out on the Monday night injury report.

Bobo will most likely be replaced by redshirt freshman Malachi Toliver, who filled in for Bobo against Alabama in the SEC Championship game and played lights out in his first career start.

Freshman pass rusher Gabe Harris Jr. and junior defensive back Joenel Aguero were also officially listed as out for Georgia, while Ole Miss will be missing cornerback Cedrick Beavers and offensive lineman John Wayne Oliver.

Thursday’s Sugar Bowl rematch is a win-or-go-home affair in the Superdome, so it will be interesting to see how each side manages to overcome its missing pieces with a trip to the CFP semifinals on the line.
