Georgia shares positive update on Tyrin Lawrence ahead of matchup with No. 3 Florida

Georgia could be getting a player of note back for its upcoming conference clash with No. 3 Florida.
On Monday, the SEC issued the availability report for Tuesday’s game between Georgia (16-11, 4-10 SEC) and No. 3 Florida (24-3, 11-3). UGA guard Tyrin Lawrence has been upgraded to probable for the conference clash in Athens. Florida lists forward Sam Alexis as out and big man Alex Condon as questionable.

Lawrence, a 1,000-point career scorer at Vanderbilt, transferred to UGA for his graduate season in 2024. With the Bulldogs, he has played in 24 games, making 20 starts.
Lawrence last played on Feb. 8 against Mississippi State. He played just 6 minutes before leaving the game due to injury, bringing his average down to 25.2 minutes per contest. Lawrence averages 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He shoots 41.6% from the field and 77.6% at the free-throw line.
On Sunday, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi put Georgia in the First Four Out for the NCAA Tournament. Mike White team’s could get a big boost with an upset of Florida, the coach’s former team. White is 0-6 against the Gators since taking the Georgia job. UF won the last meeting 89-59 on Jan. 25 in Gainesville.
Tuesday’s game is set for 7 p.m. ET, airing on the SEC Network.
