Georgia stuns Tennessee with comeback victory in overtime, extends win streak vs. Vols
Georgia defeated Tennessee in overtime 44-41 on Saturday night in Knoxville.
The Vols had a chance to win this game in regulation, but Max Gilbert’s field goal was wide right. That opened the door for the Bulldogs in overtime.
After forcing a field goal by Tennessee on its opening possession, the Bulldogs were able to find the end zone and end the game. Josh McCray won the game for the Bulldogs with a rushing touchdown on 2nd and goal from inside the one-yard line. McCray was initially ruled short of the goal line, but replay officials deemed it a touchdown.

This back-and-forth game saw numerous big plays, momentum changes and baffling defensive miscues. In the end, it was Georgia who got the job done in overtime.
Gunner Stockton made one of the biggest plays of the game late in the fourth quarter. Facing fourth and 6, Stockton found London Humphreys for a touchdown pass to bring the Bulldogs within 2 points. Georgia then tied the game on the ensuing 2-point conversion.
In overtime, it was UGA’s running backs who took over. Nate Frazier got Georgia close to the goal line with a 21-yard rush before McCray finished off the Vols.
Georgia has now won 9 consecutive games in this series.
