Georgia Tech would rather be playing in the College Football Playoff, because of course that’s always the goal.

But the Yellow Jackets still had a solid regular season, going 9-3 and being very relevant this fall in the ACC. Their consolation prize for not making the Playoff was pretty sweet, too — literally. It was an invite to the Pop-Tarts Bowl, which has become the darling scene of the bowl season for players and fans alike.

On Dec. 27 in Orlando, Georgia Tech will be a part of this annual December college football love-fest, facing BYU in a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC. The national TV spotlight will be theirs, as fans tune in to see the teams and, of course, the pop-tart magic, and Georgia Tech revealed on Friday that it was spicing things up a bit for the whole experience.

The Yellow Jackets won’t be wearing normal helmets for this grand occasion, because of course it deserves more than that. Instead, Georgia Tech will be wearing helmets with sprinkles on them, because that’s what an appearance at the Pop-Tarts Bowl rightfully deserves.

Here is a sampling of Georgia Tech’s special helmets for a special scene:

Georgia Tech will arrive in Orlando dressed for the sweet occasion, and its adorable helmets should be a big hit for the fans in attendance and for those watching on TV.

And we’ll see if the Yellow Jackets can put the cherry on the cake, or in this case the pop-tart, and actually win the game while wearing those special helmets.
