Pete Nakos of On3 reported Wednesday that Bowens will miss the Georgia-Auburn game. Bowens also missed Georgia’s Week 6 game at Alabama.
Bowens suffered a lower-body injury in UGA’s Week 5 game against Vanderbilt. Nakos reports that there is currently no timetable for Bowens’ return.
NEW: Georgia RB Chauncey Bowens will miss Saturday’s game against Auburn and his status moving forward is in doubt, @PeteNakos reports. ; On3 (@On3) October 14, 2026
Though Bowens missed the Alabama game, he is still Georgia’s rushing touchdown leader with 6 scores on the ground so far. Bowens has 35 carries for 124 yards on the year.
Against Alabama, Georgia was down both Bowens and Nate Frazier. In the win over Alabama, Dwight Phillips Jr. led the Georgia ground attack with 17 carries for 120 yards. Bo Walker added 10 carries for 69 yards.
The outing vaulted Phillips to the top of Georgia’s rushing leaders for the 2026 campaign. He now has 37 carries for 280 yards. Frazier had 211 yards through 4 contests.
No. 1 Georgia, without Bowens, takes on Auburn in Week 7. The game is set for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff.
