Georgia’s 2021 outlook begins to take shape as several players announce their plans

QB JT Daniels hinted on Monday, and made it more clear today, that he plans to return to Georgia for the 2021 season. He’s one of several Georgia players who have made similar comments, including RB James Cook and DL Devonte Wyatt.
They all mentioned some variation of “run it back” or “unfinished business,” which are popular phrases this time of year for players making plans to return to campus next season.
“With more opportunities come more chances and I have decided I have some unfinished business here at UGA!,” Wyatt tweeted. “I will be coming back for one more season in 2021.”
Entering the Peach Bowl against Cincinnati, Wyatt was the team’s leading tackler among interior linemen with 21 total stops, and he also had 14 QB pressures. He made four tackles, including two tackles for a loss against the Bearcats.
Cook missed the Peach Bowl because his father died earlier that week. Cook had 303 rushing yards and three touchdowns for the season, although he also missed the Tennessee game. Cook was Georgia’s fourth-leading receiver and best pass catcher out of the backfield with 225 yards and two touchdowns.
In the Peach Bowl win over Cincinnati, Daniels passed for 392 yards while he improved to 4-0 in four starts for Georgia. He burst on the scene with his first start against Mississippi State with 401 passing yards in the win.
