Kentucky did just enough to make it interesting against Georgia, as the Wildcats didn’t punt and had drives of 11 plays and 13 plays that ended on downs and with an interception.
It was the UK defense that kept Stetson Bennett and company in check as Georgia began the game with a pair of field goals.
UK had a classic bend-but-not-break defense as Georgia’s field-goal drives went for 13 plays and 10 plays.
Coming into Saturday, Georgia was looking to click a second consecutive undefeated finish in league play as the Bulldogs get set for Georgia Tech and LSU in the next 2 weeks. The Wildcats, meanwhile, were trying to bounce back from a humbling loss to Vanderbilt amid a skid of 4 losses in 6 games since a 4-0 start and No. 7 ranking.
Georgia struggled to find big plays as Ladd McConkey and Kenny McIntosh each had a 13-yard pass, but McIntosh chipped in a 26-yard run near the end of the half.
Georgia came in averaging 7.1 yards per play on the season, and stumbled to 5.4 at one point in this first half.
To close the half, Georgia had a long drive cover more than 50 yards, and settled for another field goal to make it 9-0.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction:
Kentucky defense is hanging tough with Georgia. Need a break away play from the offense or a take away or 2 from our defense.

Kentucky has done a lot of things right in this game. Real improvement from last game
But it’s the little things that are keeping them from really making Georgia sweat

Georgia’s 7.1 yards per play on the season. 5.4 in this first half. Hat’s off to Kentucky’s defense, really playing with a ton of pride today.
