Germie Bernard has emerged as the guy for Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson all season long, and he delivered once again in a huge way on Saturday.

First with the Crimson Tide trailing 22-14 with just over two minutes remaining, he caught a 4-yard pass to tie the game up. After the Crimson Tide forced a fumble, Bernard scored another touchdown, this time on a 25-yard run to help Alabama move to 7-1 on the season.

Bernard started his career at Michigan State, but transferred to Washington in 2023 to play for coach Kalen DeBoer. He developed that relationship with his coach, and he came to Tuscaloosa last year when DeBoer replaced Nick Saban.

He entered this season with nine total touchdowns in his career, but he is putting together a spectacular year in 2025 as he now has eight touchdowns already for the Crimson Tide.

Wide receiver Ryan Williams got a lot of the preseason talk, but it has been Bernard who has become the guy Simpson goes to when he needs a big play.

Alabama is still in control of its own destiny when it comes to making it to the SEC Championship and the College Football Playoff, and Bernard is a huge reason why.
