The Alabama Crimson Tide and Tennessee Volunteers know where they’ll be every third Saturday in October.

The two schools renew their rivalry this weekend in Knoxville, with both programs in search of a victory that would boost their respective College Football Playoff resumes. Naturally, ABC will have one of its top broadcast pairings on hand for the game.

According to On3’s Charlie Potter, Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy will provide ABC’s TV commentary for the Crimson Tide-Vols contest. Katie George will serve as the duo’s sideline reporter.

Knoxville is familiar territory for McElroy, who went 24-3 as Alabama’s starter in 2009-10. He quarterbacked the Crimson Tide to a massive 41-10 triumph against the Volunteers at Neyland Stadium in 2010. That victory was part of a 15-game win streak in the series for Alabama (2007-2021).

While the early part of the 21st century was dominated by the Crimson Tide, Tennessee has fought to turn the tables this decade. Josh Heupel has beaten Alabama in each of the last two meetings in Knoxville: a 52-49 triumph in 2022 and 24-17 victory in 2024.

The Crimson Tide (5-1, 3-1 SEC) and Volunteers (5-1, 2-1 SEC) both have larger aspirations they’re chasing, but can clinch bowl eligibility with a win this weekend. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday.
