The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs welcomed the Vanderbilt Commodores to Sanford Stadium on Saturday afternoon for a homecoming showdown between former SEC East rivals.
It’s the first time since 2023 that these 2 programs have met on the gridiron, and the Dawgs wasted very little time getting on the board following a stalled opening drive by the Commodores.
Star senior quarterback Gunner Stockton led an immaculate drive down the field, completing all 8 of his pass attempts and capping things off with a short toss to sophomore wideout Landon Roldan in the endzone for the opening score of the day.
The second year starter under center for Georgia has been immaculate all season long, ranking at or near the top of pretty much every passer efficiency metric list in the nation.
This opening touchdown against Vanderbilt marked his eleventh passing score of the campaign, and his fourth that has come in the first quarter of play across the Dawgs’ first 5 games this season.
Nobody in the country is averaging more points per game than the Dawgs, and that’s do in large part to Stockton’s masterful ability to conduct this high powered Georgia offense.
