Gus Malzahn comments on Auburn’s impressive first half performance against LSU

Auburn entered the LSU game as a slight underdog but you wouldn’t know it the way the first half of this game played out.

Following a pair of costly mistakes by LSU freshman quarterback T.J Finley, Auburn leads LSU 21-3 at halftime.

If you missed it, Finley over threw one of his receivers, which led to one of Auburn’s touchdowns and a strip sack resulted in a scoop and score touchdown for Kevin Steele’s defense. Finley has completed 13 of his 23 passes for 143 yards.

Bo Nix has completed 11 of his 15 passes for 139 yards and two scores.

Just before halftime, Nix hit Ze’Vian Capers on a nine-yard touchdown pass to cap a 99-yard drive.
