Temple lost 10 games last season.

The Owls are two quarters away from winning their first in 2014.

First-year Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason can’t be happy at intermission by what he’s seen from his Commodores and a lackluster effort on offense.

Vanderbilt’s trailing 21-7 and its lone touchdown came on a mishandled snap by Temple’s punter in the end zone. In the second quarter, the Commodores made a quarterback switch, replacing Patton Robinette with Stephen Rivers.

“We needed a change of pace … needed a spark,” Mason said during a halftime interview with SEC Network.
