Harvey Hull, former Mississippi State LB great, passes away

Harvey Hull, considered one of the best players in Mississippi State history, has died. He was 66.
A native of Walnut Grove, Mississippi, Hull lettered 4 years at MSU as a linebacker from 1973-76. He was a second-team All American in 1976, and an All-SEC performer in 1974, 1975 and 1976.
Hull made 454 career tackles, which still ranks second all-time in school history. He was a part of Mississippi State’s victory against North Carolina in the 1974 Sun Bowl when he was a freshman.
Hull was selected in the 10th round of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers, but his NFL career was cut short because of a major knee injury.
Coach Mike Leach shared on social media that MSU lost a “great Bulldog” who had an “outstanding career.”
