Alabama opened the second half much like it did the game, with a long touchdown pass from Mac Jones. This time, the Crimson Tide quarterback found DeVonta Smith for a 42-yard reception as he tumbled into the end zone.
Smith’s catch capped a four-play drive for the Crimson Tide as they took a 21-16 lead in the Citrus Bowl over Michigan with 13:30 left in the third quarter. It gave Alabama momentum again after Michigan kicked a field goal to close the first half.
Jones has had a strong start to the game, as he’s 10-for-15 passing for 212 yards and two touchdowns. Smith has three catches for 56 yards so far in the game.
Jones earlier hit Jerry Jeudy for an 85-yard touchdown to open the game.
