It’s not an understatement when we tell you that this could be the most important regular season game of the 2025 college football season. Georgia and Alabama are 2 of the best teams in the SEC, and this matchup will surely have major implications for the College Football Playoff field.
On one side we have the Crimson Tide, who put together a solid past few weeks after falling in miserable fashion to Florida State in Week 1. Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson was nearly perfect for the Crimson Tide offense after that Florida State game, combining to go 41-46 for 608 yards and 8 touchdowns accounted for against Louisiana-Monroe and Wisconsin.
But on the other hand, Georgia is still Georgia, and Kirby Smart is still Kirby Smart. The Bulldogs have been nearly flawless at Sanford Stadium under Smart, having won 33 straight home matchups entering Week 5’s pivotal game. Georgia already beat a good Tennessee team earlier this season, so quarterback Gunner Stockton and a strong defensive line are certainly up to the task of defending that monster streak.
