The Auburn Tigers started the Hugh Freeze era on a positive note, throttling the UMass Minutemen by a score of 59-14. The Tigers racked up nearly 500 yards of offense and held the Minutemen to just 1 third-down conversion on the day.
After the game, Freeze got to take part in the legendary Auburn tradition of rolling Toomer’s Corner for the first time.

Freeze said that he hoped this was “the first of many” times that he gets to partake in the tradition.
The coach took 3 shots at launching the toilet paper, as he was finally satisfied after the third attempt.
“You guys are the best, man,” said Freeze to the crowd of Auburn supporters. “We’re so thankful to have you as supporters.” A fan in attendance loudly proclaimed that the fans were thankful for Freeze in response. The video ended with a young fan running up to Freeze and asking for a picture, a request that Freeze obliged.
The 1-0 Tigers will next head to California for a Week 2 matchup with the Cal Golden Bears.
