The Michigan alum received an earful from Ohio State fans for trolling the Buckeyes prior to their victory vs. Texas. There was even a pregame report that Portnoy was banned from Ohio Stadium, which OSU later denied.
Now, Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard is taking a shot at Ohio State as Portnoy rolls into Ames.
Dave Portnoy second’s stop in his new role for FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff will certainly be more welcoming than Ohio State. The Barstool Sports founder will be part of the crew live pre-game for Iowa at Iowa State.
“Iowa State is not Ohio State-Dave Portnoy and @barstoolsports will be live from the Reiman Plaza Saturday as part of Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff. @Big12Conference @FOXSports,” Pollard posted on X, formerly Twitter.
However, Portnoy also recently poked some fun at Iowa State for not including him in a social media post about Big Noon Kickoff.
“Guess I’m taking the Hawkeyes with this disrespect,” Portnoy said.
Iowa is coming off a 34-7 victory vs. visiting Albany. Iowa State is 2-0 after edging Kansas State 24-21 in Ireland and routing South Dakota 55-7 at home.
Iowa leads the all-time series 47-24 against Iowa State. However, Iowa State won last season’s matchup 20-19 in Iowa City on a 54-yard field goal by Kyle Konrardy with 6 seconds left.
Iowa at Iowa State is slated for a 12 p.m. ET kickoff on FOX.
