Jackson Cantwell, No. 1 overall player in class of 2026, announces commitment
Jackson Cantwell has made his college decision.
The 5-star offensive lineman and No. 1 overall recruit for the class of 2026 has committed to Miami. He had offers from programs such as Georgia, Oregon, Ohio State and numerous other top programs from around the country.
Cantwell announced his decision in a ceremony at Nixa High School on Tuesday. Here’s a clip from his announcement:
In the lead-up to his commitment, Cantwell cited his relationship with coaches and a history of offensive line development as two key factors in his decision.
Cantwell most recently took an official visit to Georgia this past weekend, but still ended up picking Miami for his college destination. It’s a huge recruiting win for Miami as it looks to build itself into a contender under Mario Cristobal in Coral Gables.
Cantwell is the 10th prospect to commit to Miami so far in the class of 2026. He’s also the 4th offensive lineman to do so, but the first in this class with a 5-star rating from 247Sports Composite.
Cantwell projects to be an early contributor in his college career. He’s listed at 6-foot-7, 325 pounds. He initially received an offer from Miami way back in February of 2023.
