The No. 22 LSU Tigers welcomed the No. 16 Mississippi State Bulldogs to Death Valley in Week 7 for a pivotal top-25 showdown between former SEC West rivals.

The Bayou Bengals entered the game with 2 losses on their record after a brutal overtime loss in Week 6 to the Kentucky Wildcats, while the Bulldogs entered looking to get things back on track following their bye week.

Star LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt and junior wideout Jackson Harris came out on fire in the first half, connecting on a 27-yard touchdown in the first quarter and then another 17-yard pass-and-catch in the end zone in the second quarter to extend the Tigers’ lead to 21-0.

Leavitt and Harris both made the move to Baton Rouge last offseason when Kiffin took over, and they have quickly become one of the more underrated quarterback-wide receiver duos in the country.

Harris entered the game against MSU as Leavitt’s second-leading target in yardage with 371, and his top end zone connection with 3 touchdowns through the first 6 weeks of the campaign.

Something is clearly clicking between these two electric playmakers, and that connection is going to be hard to stop for the defenses on the back half of LSUโ€™s regular season schedule.
