After entering the transfer portal last month, Jahmir Johnson has elected to depart Tennessee and continue his college football career at Texas A&M.
Johnson made the announcement on social media Saturday.
“Past three years, the University of Tennessee has become my home. After much consideration with my close friends and family, I will be deciding to transfer to Texas A & M University to continue to play football in the SEC at a high level while also pursuing my graduate degree,” Johnson wrote on Twitter.
Johnson joined UT in 2018 as a redshirt sophomore, after previously playing at Arizona Western Community College in 2017 and Rhode Island in 2016.
Johnson will join Jimbo Fisher’s program as a graduate transfer. He played in 24 games for Tennessee, making 17 starts. This past season, he played in seven games (starting five) for the Vols.
