Jake Fromm leads Bills to game-winning drive in first action as NFL QB

Jake Fromm has had an especially long transition to the NFL, but on Friday night, it paid off.
The former Georgia QB led the Buffalo Bills on a game-winning drive in the preseason opener at Detroit, and thanks to a late field goal, the Bills prevailed 16-15. Fromm led the Bills on an 80-yard scoring drive, and the key play was a 42-yard pass to Marquez Stevenson on fourth down along the sidelines.
Fromm, who was drafted by the Bills in the fifth round last year and was the quarantine quarterback last season, which meant he was kept away from the team, went 8-for-13 passing for 65 yards.
Tyler Bass connected on a 44-yard field goal with 15 seconds remaining to secure the victory.
Fromm’s play goes a long way to making the Bills roster after the organization signed Mitchell Trubisky in the offseason, and must decide if it will keep, or which third-string quarterback to have on the roster.
