Jalen Carter is now the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history.
The former Georgia defensive tackle signed a 4-year extension with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday, a $152 million deal worth up to $160 million with added incentives and $106 million guaranteed.
Carter is just getting started in dominating the NFL, and the Eagles obviously agree given this hefty financial investment. The No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft is a 2-time pro bowler across 3 professional seasons and has proven to be one of the best run stoppers in the game as well as an explosive presence along the defensive line.
So far, Carter has totaled 13.5 sacks, 19.5 stuffs and 4 forced fumbles across his 3 years with the Eagles. To go with this, Carter has totaled 108 tackles across his 44 games in the NFL.
Carter was similarly dominant across his 3 years at Georgia, where he helped the Bulldogs win back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022 as a sophomore and junior. For his Georgia career, Carter totaled 83 tackles, 6 sacks, 4 pass deflections and 2 forced fumbles.
