Former Alabama QB Jalen Hurts missed a preseason game last week, and on Tuesday, he met with the media to discuss the absence.
Hurts said he debated about whether or not he would tell the staff about his stomach pain, and that if it was a regular season game, he would have played. He was sent to a Philadelphia hospital and diagnosed with a stomach infection and told to stay at home to rest for at least 2 days. He tested negative for COVID-19, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
“I was debating whether to say something,” he said, per Mike Garafolo. “I said something with the intention of still playing,” and added he would be “smart about it.”
During a recent 75-yard drive at practice, Hurts celebrated a touchdown to Jalen Reagor, who also said on Tuesday that Hurts would have a big year.
