Jalen Milroe put up an impressive 40-yard dash time during Alabama’s pro day on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Alabama, Milroe’s 40-yard dash time clocked in at a 4.37 seconds:
That’s the kind of time that will likely get NFL scouts talking ahead of the draft next month. Milroe was solid as a passer for the Crimson Tide, but his athleticism and running ability is what separated him from other top quarterbacks. With that kind of speed, it becomes more likely that an NFL franchise will consider taking him in the 1st round of the draft.
Milroe did not run a 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine a few weeks ago — in fact, only 3 quarterbacks did. Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook was the fastest of the bunch with a time of 4.59 seconds. Only a handful of players — regardless of position — ran better than a 4.37 at this year’s combine. The fastest time at the event was from Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston, who ran a 4.28.
In 2 seasons as Alabama’s primary starting quarterback, Milroe rushed for over 1,200 yards and 32 touchdowns. He was also efficient as a passer, particularly in 2023 when he posted a passer efficiency rating of 172.2 and finished 6th in Heisman Trophy voting.
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to begin on April 24 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
