Jalen Milroe is not amongst the 4 finalists for the 2023 Heisman Trophy.
LSU’s Jayden Daniels, Oregon’s Bo Nix, Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. and Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. all made the cut over Milroe.
Harrison’s inclusion over Milroe is somewhat of a surprise given the Alabama quarterback’s performance against Georgia on Saturday and in the second half of the 2023 season.
Milroe was a big part of Alabama snapping Georgia’s 29-game winning streak in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday. He’s averaged over 10 yards per attempt through the air this season and is responsible for 35 total touchdowns. Meanwhile, Harrison had a relatively-quiet November — he failed to surpass 30 receiving yards in 2 of Ohio State’s 4 games last month.
Alabama’s last Heisman Trophy winner was Bryce Young back in 2021. This will be the second straight year that Alabama will not have a finalist at the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York City.
Here’s some of the reaction to Milroe’s Heisman Trophy snub:
—Alabama QB Jalen Milroe should've damn well been a Heisman finalist.
—He beat a two-time national champion Georgia that had won 29-straight.
—He beat Jayden Daniels' LSU.
—He vaulted a one-loss Bama into the CFP over a 13-0 P5 champion Florida State.

Marvin Harrison Jr. didn’t even have the best statistical season for a WR, he shouldn’t have gotten an invite to New York over Jalen Milroe.

Is the Heisman about storylines and how valuable a player is for his team? If so, then I don’t understand how Alabama QB Jalen Milroe is not a finalist. 3,506 all purpose yards, 35 touchdowns, and the 9th best QBR (83.6). He single handily led Alabama to the playoffs. https://t.co/JLWI2KV4LX

I love Marvin Harrison Jr but how is he an Heisman candidate over Jalen Milroe? I’m not quite understanding. https://t.co/kPcVFLnr0p
