Falcons linebacker James Pearce Jr. will have a chance to have all of his charges dismissed, according to Andy Slater.

The 22-year-old was charged with three felonies in relation to a Feb. 7 incident that involved Pearce’s ex-girlfriend, WNBA player Rickea Jackson. Pearce was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, fleeing and eluding police, and resisting an officer with violence to his or her person. His fourth charge of felony aggravated stalking was changed to a misdemeanor.

Pearce will now have a chance to have these charges dismissed if he completes a program offered to him by the state of Florida. Here’s Slater’s full tweet explaining the details:

“SLATER SCOOP: Falcons’ James Pearce Jr. will have all of his charges dismissed if he completes a program offered to him by the state of Florida, I’ve learned. While details are still being worked out, Pearce Jr. would have to attend therapy sessions and stay out of trouble over a six-month period. His attorney, Yale Stanford, tells me the victim, Rickea Jackson, and the police officers in this case spoke to the state attorney’s office and agreed to this as well.”

Pearce Jr. was the 26th pick in last year’s NFL Draft out of Tennessee.
