Jaycee Horn is preparing for his 5th NFL season with the Carolina Panthers. On Monday, the former South Carolina star also agreed to a deal of epic proportions.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Horn is landing a long-term extension for 4 years worth $100 million. Schefter reports the max value of the deal is worth $108 million with $70 million fully guaranteed for Horn.
At $25 million per year, Horn becomes the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history (on an annual basis). Jalen Ramsey at $24.1 million annually was the previous record for a cornerback.

Horn is entering the final year of his rookie contract, but it is a slight gamble on the part of the Panthers. When on the field, Horn has been a difference-maker, but he has 2 seasons cut short by injury. He appeared in just 3 games as a rookie and was limited to 6 total games in 2023.
The positive outlook is that Horn is coming off his best season as a pro with 15 games played while setting career-high numbers with 68 tackles, 13 pass breakups, and 5 TFL. For his career, Horn has 5 interceptions and 26 pass breakups.
