Jayson Jones, Oregon DT transfer, announces SEC destination

Jayson Jones, a former defensive tackle at Oregon has announced his transfer destination, and he is now an Auburn Tiger.

Jones, a former Alabama commit and originally from Calera, Alabama, is listed at 6-foot-5, 320 and had 19 tackles this past season. He was a 4-star prospect in high school in Calera. He committed to Alabama in 2018, but was a 2020 signing day flip to Oregon. Jones has 3 years of eligibility remaining.

Jones appeared in all 13 games for Oregon in 2021, but didn’t play in 2020. He was the second Oregon player to enter the transfer portal following the departure of coach Mario Cristobal.

Jones’ list of offers reportedly included Georgia Tech, Jackson State, Miami, Missouri, North Carolina, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State.
