Kamario Taylor returned to Mississippi State‘s starting lineup on Saturday, but the star quarterback was extremely limited as he reaggravated his injury early in the Oklahoma game.
After MSU’s 23-15 loss to OU, Bulldogs coach Jeff Lebby was asked about the decision to start Taylor and why the star quarterback did not return after his first-quarter injury.
“It was a team decision,” Lebby said of the decision to start, per the Clarion Ledger. “From our doctor’s standpoint, (head trainer) Thomas (Callans), myself and Kamario, he felt good. He had a better week. Still very limited throughout the week, but we were all on the same page and he was ready to go play.”
Taylor has been dealing with an injury that kept him out of the LSU game. He started Saturday, but left in the 1st quarter after reaggravating his injury.
“He felt it a little bit, so it felt like the right thing to do was get him out of the game,” Lebby said. “As we move forward, we’ll know a lot more tomorrow and we’ll know more Monday as we move through it.”
