Texas A&M’s game with Ole Miss was called off this week, and coach Jimbo Fisher was asked if that may play a factor in the opinions of the members of the College Football Playoff committee.

“I don’t think 8-1, 9-1 there shouldn’t be much of a difference in my opinion,” Fisher said on the SEC coaches media teleconference.

Fisher also added that there’s no chance the Aggies would play Ohio State this week, which also had a game called off against Michigan.

With the Early Signing Day period beginning on Dec. 16, is this a silver lining for the coaching staff and time management?

“We are trying to,” Fisher said. “Having signing day during the season is tough. Hopefully we are getting there, we are gameplanning this week. Hopefully that is a silver lining.”

The Aggies are slated to close out the regular season with a road trip to Knoxville to face the Volunteers on Dec. 19.
