At his press conference on Sunday in College Station, Jimbo Fisher shed some light on what the Texas A&M kick return unit could look like this season. According to TexAgs.com, Fisher said running back Devon Achane is a likely candidate to be returning kicks this fall.

“Weโ€™ll return kicks, but itโ€™ll depend on who the team is and what the situation is. We’ll pick our spots,” Fisher said. “Weโ€™ll definitely take shots at it, no doubt. I would suspect Achane will be one of the returners.”

A native of Missouri City, Texas, Achane played in eight games as a freshman in 2020. He rushed for 364 yards and 4 touchdowns while adding 5 catches for 97 yards and a score.

Last season, Texas A&M decided to opt for a kick return over a touchback just 3 times (30 total kick return yards in 2020).
