Jimbo Fisher has been on both sidelines in Tiger Stadium, and understands how it is unique as a venue in sports. The former LSU offensive coordinator has special memories being there from 2000 to 2006 as both of his children were born in Baton Rouge.

“It’s very much like here, there’s such a passion,” Fisher said at his weekly press conference ahead of the game at LSU. “The people there genuinely love LSU. There’s a love in that state for LSU, it’s the state university, it’s the flagship university, they live, eat and breathe by it. They’re having success. Those people are fun-loving great people. … I lived there for seven years it’s a great place, it really was. They have true passion for what they do. They have passion for their state, their university, a lot of kids are homegrown kids, so they have it there, they want to win. The environment, the atmosphere, football’s important there. It’s one of the great venues in college football and we’re fortunate enough to be able to go play in it.”

Fisher previously coached there as an Auburn assistant in the mid-1990s, but this will be his first visit back there since leaving LSU as the OC in 2006.

The game is set for 6 p.m. local time on ESPN.
