Joe Burrow told reporters on Wednesday afternoon that he will not start on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns as the Cincinnati Bengals get set for the playoffs.

Brandon Allen will get the start for the Bengals after Burrow limped off the field late in Sunday’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs, which helped the Bengals clinch the AFC North title. Burrow said his knee is fine, and that mental rest is just as big — if not bigger — than physical health ahead of big games, WLWT reported.

This will be the main storyline around the league this week as teams that have already clinched playoff berths, and certainly division titles, will rest their key players.

Cincinnati has not won a playoff game since the 1990 season. This year’s playoff significance is not lost on Burrow.

“I grew up in Ohio,” he said. “I knew everything that everyone says about the Bengals.”
